The Directorate of Research is the research arm of the Education, Training, and Research (ET&R) Unit, which operates under the Ministry of Health through the Deputy Director General (ET&R). It also serves as the national focal point for health research.

Capacity Building Programme for Ethics Review Committee Members

This online course, "Capacity Building Programme for ERC Members" is designed to equip members of Ethics Review Committees (ERCs) with the skills needed for effective research oversight. The program covers key topics like foundational principles, legal frameworks, and ethical conduct in various research contexts. Participants will learn about ERC governance, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and the specific ethical considerations for vulnerable populations. The course also addresses scientific merit review, conflict management, data governance, and informed consent. Led by experts, the program culminates in a mock ERC review to address real-world challenges. This course is run by Directorate of Research of Education, Training, & Research Unit, Ministry of Health.
