This online course provides a comprehensive foundation in the principles and practices of Advanced Life Support (ALS). Designed to complement hands-on training, it covers key topics such as recognizing and managing medical emergencies, advanced airway techniques, cardiac arrest algorithms, and post-resuscitation care. Through interactive modules, case studies, and self-assessments, participants will develop the knowledge and confidence to apply ALS protocols effectively in critical situations.

There are 3 sessions:

  1. Online
    1. Module 1:  Introduction to advance life support 
    2. Module 2:  Recognizing the critically ill patients 
    3. Module 3: Basic life support 
    4. Modules 4: Managing the airway 
    5. Module 5: Rhythm recognition and defibrillation 
    6. Modules 6: Post resuscitation care
  2. Simulation Session (Physical)
    1. Total training time: 2 hours
    2. Station 1: BASIC LIFE SUPPORT
    3. Station 2: RHYTHM RECOGNITION & DEFIBRILLATION 
  3. Assignment
    1. Consists of 25 Single Best Answers
    2. Candidate must score 60% or above to obtain and download the Certificate of Completion

Entry criteria

Completed MBBS or need to register as medical practitioner in Sri Lanka 

For the successful completion the below should be achieved:

  1. Need to complete Pre-course MCQ test
  2. Completion of session 1 online
  3. Satisfactory completion of simulation session [ will be Certified by Consultant Emergency physician] 
  4. Obtain 60%or more for Post course assessment.
